The Empire of Good Intentions

If there had been enough time (but there never is), I would have shown you some or all of this documentary on the British Empire in India and Ireland. Sometime, when you have a free moment (hah!), check it out.

  1. Interesting. I wonder what the US non-colonial, but political and economic empire of good intentions will result. Time will tell. The class of 2510 may have some nice insight into our current activities such as Iraq and Afanistan.

  2. If historical performance is an indicator of future results we have a lot of data to say Afghanistan will fail. The Russians could not make it happen after 10 years and they are basically next door. The finish line is when we pull out of that country (never) so perhaps we simply move the bar for success and say if we never leave, we never fail... But I digress. Looking forward to hearing what the class of 2510 says too. "Dr. Please start up the Cryro Gen and wake me in 500 years". Hey, that is an awesome retirement strategy. My 401K should be sufficient to support my lifestyle by then. Or, it could be negative :-) given the current economy.
